About Ernie
Ernie Zuniga previously spent almost 30 years in local TV news and sports, most recently anchoring the morning news at FOXSA in San Antonio. He has also worked as a sports anchor and reporter in San Antonio, Phoenix, Arizona and his hometown of Victoria, Texas.
Zuniga attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a degree in Communications from the University of Houston-Victoria.
Ernie devotes much of his time to several local non-profits, including the 100 Club of San Antonio and the Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation. Currently, he sits on the board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society South Central Texas Chapter. Every year Zuniga emcees dozens of events for these and other causes. In 2018, he was crowned “King of the River Walk,” after helping to raise more than $20,000 for the San Antonio River Walk Association. Zuniga is also a fixture at many Fiesta events and has served on the courts of two Rey Feos.
Ernie is a devoted husband and father. He has been married to his wife Tami for more than 25 years. Together, they have a daughter Ava and twins, Luke and Madeline.
